Ramirent wins €10 million access contract in Slovenia
Finnish based international rental company Ramirent has been awarded a €10 million scaffolding and access solutions contract in Slovenia.
The contract, awarded by Alstom Power Systems, is for the Sostanj Power Plant Unit six, where the German company is main contractor on what is said to be the largest power-generating investment in Slovenia.
The contract includes the construction of a new block with a capacity of 600 MW and the modernisation of the Termoelektrarna Sostanj Power Plant. The contract is expected to run from March 2012 until November 2014.
Ramirent’s Polish operation will be the general supplier of scaffolding services and access solutions. During the peak stage of the scaffolding works, the project will employ aaround100, with at least half being recruited locally.
Tomasz Walawender, Ramirent senior vice president, Europe Central said: “The Sostanj Power Plant is a major recognition of Ramirent’s expertise in providing rental services for industrial construction. The project supports our strategy of providing specialised services for construction and maintenance of industrial facilities. We have already started planning the scaffolding works and look forward to working with Alstom Power Systems on this demanding project.”
