Opportunities in the UK
In the past two months, several companies have called us with first class business opportunities and job prospects in the UK Access market, all are finding it difficult to find good people. Why is it so difficult to find dealers, distributors, senior managers or partners in the UK? We consider ourselves to be more entrepreneurial than most other European countries and yet it is as difficult, if not more difficult to find partners in the UK.
Here are just a few of the recent requests we have had.
Easi up lifts are planning to open up a new location in the Home Counties of England, in the Milton Keynes /Oxford/ Banbury/ Northampton region. It is planning a major location for the rental of high value specialist aerial lifts, with the strategy to provide a local end user service together with a wider area re-rent operation, offering rental companies fast availability of high cost niche products on a wholesale rental basis. In order to do this though they are looking for an entrepreneurial person who will help find the location, which they would prefer to buy, set the business up and then run it. What a plum job!
If anyone is interested, they can call either Harry McArdle on +353 87 2580 298 or John Ball on +353 87 255 8472.
Altrex from Holland are looking for a UK dealer with national coverage to distribute its light alloy access products in the UK as many companies have found this is not an easy task. If anyone is interested Altrex have a link in our access and lifting directory under alloy scaffold.
Svelt, another Alloy tower producer is looking for a person who is prepared to set up a joint venture with them distributing ladders and scaffolds in the UK market. The company has a superb range of steps with guarded platforms, just the kind of product that should do well under the new Work at height regulations later this year. A similar venture they set up with a person in Spain two to three years ago is already generating revenues of over £2 million with excellent margins. Svelt also have a link in our directory under alloy scaffold.
Rössler, a German producer of superb devices that allow companies to trouble shoot a machine from a PC in the office, take usage readings, limit the usage to weekdays or deactivate the machine in case of non payment another of the many companies that have found it difficult to find a UK partner or dealer.
What is it that makes it so difficult?
If you know then please let us tell us and we will post the most humorous responses here.
