Fatal fall in Victoria

A man died in Lara, Victoria, Australia yesterday after falling around 13 to 15 metres from an aerial lift.

The man, 45, was pruning trees at a residential address when he fell from the platform to the ground. People at the scene attempted to give him CPR which was taken up by the paramedics when they arrived, but they were unable to save him and he was declared dead at the scene.

We have no further details at this time, apart from the fact that we have been told that the man was not wearing a harness or lanyard.

WorkSafe Victoria has attended the scene along with the police and it is investigating the cause of the incident.
