New truck for a new facility

UK access sales and rental company Platform Sales & Hire has purchased its first new truck for its new facility in Milton Keynes. The 32 tonne DAF flatbed was supplied by Mansfield-based Shawtrack and incorporates all the latest safety features including side mounted safety rails.

Platform Sales & Hire purchased Bucks Access Rentals (BAR) 18 months ago and has now established both the hire and sales divisions under one name and on one new site in Bleak Hall, Central Milton Keynes. The site has historically been an access centre, originally set up by Alan Drew Ltd in 1977.

“All the existing personnel have transferred to the new site and this has allowed the company to continue with its expansion in both the hire and selling of access equipment,” said managing director Chris Caney. “With a hire fleet size of 200 machines, the company is looking to push on in 2012.”
