Appleton to join Ramirent board

Kevin Appleton is being proposed as a non-executive director of Finnish based international rental company Ramirent.

His appointment has been proposed by the company’s main shareholders Nordstjernan and Oy Julius Tallberg, which together account for around 40 percent of the voting rights.

Appleton was chief executive of Lavendon for more than eight years, departing the business in June. Prior to that he was managing director at Dexion and FedEx Logistics.

This is an interesting move from Ramirent which is currently the third largest rental company in Europe marginally behind Cramo both of which are gaining on market leader Loxam.

We also hear that there may be further career developments for Appleton on horizon. Watch this space.
