Price forms access rental division

JV Price, the Luton, UK , based commercial window cleaners and contractors has reorganised its business to create a dedicated powered access division - Price Access.

The operation will be part of the Price Group as the company –J.V.Price - is now known.

The move heralds a significant expansion in its truck mounted aerial lift fleet gets underway, kicked off by the arrival of a new 38 metre Bronto Skylift S38XDT, with a new 33 metre Ruthmann due shortly, further Bronto and Ruthmann units are on order for delivery during the year.

The new Bronto – the first new machine to be acquired by the newly formed division, has been built to a very high specification, “in order to offer the customers more than just an access platform” and its equipped with on-board reach and wash system (purified water for cleaning glass) and pressure washing system with twin hot lances in the platform. Other options include: an extendable platform, xenon working lights, a material handling frame, platform winch and wireless remote controls.

Managing director Charlie Price says that specification reflects the fact that he has some ideas up his sleeve regarding new applications for the machine.
“We have played at the access game for the last 15 years as we have had platforms in our window cleaning business, but now we have started a stand-alone division with hire in mind, we want to be able to offer our customers that little bit more than the rest,” said Price.

“We have already signed contracts with some of London’s largest window cleaning companies to supply access platforms with window cleaners so that they don’t have to carry out work at height in-house. We have also taken on a contract with a sign company that installs large banners on buildings and they have been blown away with the platform and winch in some cases cutting the fitting time in half.”
