Altrad adds another UK acquisition

French scaffold and formwork group Altrad has acquired UK Scaffolder, MTD Scaffolding.

The deal, which was concluded on Friday, was made through its NSG UK operation. MTD, which has revenues of £3.5 million and employs 60 at three locations in the midlands with its headquarters in Oldbury and branches in Telford and Loughborough.

Altrad chief executive Mohed Altrad said: “This latest exciting acquisition provides a company with a wealth of experience, highly professional with safety at the core of the values and a strong, highly driven team led by Tracey Hutton, managing director and Garry Taylor, projects director. Tracey and Garry will continue to head up the business to progress the growth plan that was already in place.”

Mike Carr, managing director of NSG UK said: “There is a tremendous opportunity for NSG to expand in the UK organically or through strategic acquisitions of companies with similar activities to provide customers with a full UK coverage as well as the Altrad International support that already exists.”

Hutton added: “Our unique service is based on rapid response, system scaffolding (Altrad Plettac Contur) with unequalled customer service. Our friendly highly skilled staff undergoes regular training for health and safety, quality control and customer satisfaction. A fully bespoke operational management system enables the company to accurately and efficiently manage the business for dealing with Local Authorities, PLC’s and Building companies and provides detailed KPI’s.”
