Power-Lift was acquired by Netherlands based Beuzekom Group, which includes Hoogwerker Centrum, last year and has been working with Snorkel informally since then. Power-Lift was originally the German distributor for UpRight, which was rebranded as Snorkel in 2010.
Enrique Garcia Delgado, Snorkel’s regional sales manager for Europe, said: “Snorkel has worked closely with Power-Lift Deutschland for a year now, which has given us great confidence in the company’s new structure and organisation. We see Power-Lift as a trustworthy partner to help develop our business in Germany, further strengthening our sales and service capabilities.”
Power-Lift will work with Wim Jansink, Snorkel’s district manager for Germany, to develop and grow sales.
Wim van Beuzekom, chief executive of Power-Lift said: “Our main focus lies in delivering superb customer service, by optimising our product support and spare parts, in cooperation with our German service partners. With over 10 years experience in aerial work platforms, we have extensive product knowledge and truly understand the business. We are very confident to be able to offer our customers a great service in Germany and working with Snorkel we are extremely optimistic about the future.”
Background
UpRight originally appointed Power-Lift, then owned by Holger Johan, in 2006 as its master dealer for Germany. Then in 2010, following the merger of the UpRight and Snorkel brands, it made Carsten Bielefeld of Hubarbeitsbuehnen Bielefeld, its German importer, under the name Snorkel Deutschland.
Power-Lift continued to operate as a regional dealer for Snorkel products.
The deal with Snorkel Deutschland ended acrimoniously last August, following at least one case of fraud and non payment, leading to the immediate cancellation of its distribution contract. Wim van Beuzekom acquired Power-Lift last March, with Johan departing in July, since then Power-Lift and Snorkel have worked together increasingly closely resulting in today’s official announcement.
