RT crane overturns on bridge job

A relatively new Rough Terrain crane overturned while working on the Moses Wheeler Bridge in Connecticut last week.

The bridge, which carries I-95 over the Housatonic River between Stratford and Milford is being replaced. The crane was equipped for lifting concrete beams and barriers and was free on wheels with the just one boom section extended, when it went over.

The fallen crane

The operator received minor injuries but was relatively unhurt. The general contractor on the job is O&G Industries, of Torrington, Connecticut. No details of how the incident occurred have been released.
