Man injured loading boom

A man was seriously injured yesterday while loading a large boom lift in Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

The man was loading a Terex (Marklift) telescopic boom onto a low loader when it appears to have slipped off the side and rolled, the operator/driver has either been thrown from the platform or injured in the basket as it hit the ground.

The scene as police investigate the cause


The man was taken to the trauma unit of Lancaster hospital where he is said to be in "very critical condition." The local police is investigating the cause of the incident.

The truck is owned by Scenic Ridge Construction of Gordonville, Pennsylvania, the company is a regular user of boom lifts and also hauls heavy equipment for others.
