Skyking to launch tracked boom lift
UK based Skyking will launch a new 14 metre lift mounted on a Softrak cross country tracked vehicle at Vertikal Days later this month.
The new product has been developed in partnership with UK based off-road tracked vehicle specialist Loglogic and has a travel speed of 12mph/19kph, with an exceptionally low ground bearing pressures.

The new lift is capable of 19kph across soft ground
The new platform is based on Skyking’s E140TJV van mounted lift, which uses a GSR superstructure and offers 220kg platform capacity and 8.5 metres of outreach. A number of modifications have been made to suit the vehicle, including special levelling jacks and sub-frame design to complement the chassis.
The unit was also developed in conjunction with companies in the electricity distribution industry and incorporates their input. Skyking says that it feels there is a gap in the market for a tracked platform which can be driven over reasonably long distances.

The new lift has a two section telescopic boom and articulating jib
The platform has 360 degrees rotation, remote cable type lower controls, while utilising as many common controls and components and replacement parts as possible with the equivalent van mounted model. The company says that the van mount configuration was selected as it offered the optimum operating envelope when compared to other configurations such as straight telescopic.
The Loglogic Softrack chassis is fitted with 600mm wide Bridgestone rubber tracks and is able to traverse steep slopes or cross very soft terrain or deep snow with ease, whilst causing minimal damage to sensitive environments or highway surfaces. This unique rubber track has 150 mm flexible edges in order to deflect over obstacles and undulations and not cut into softer ground and thus minimise damage to tree roots etc.

The unit has levelling jacks and 360 degree slew
The patented single joystick control is unique to Loglogic and allows smooth control of all the transmission functions from contra-rotation on the spot at low speed, to wide sweeping curves at high speed, all at the touch of a lever.
The unit will be on show at stand 106 at Vertikal Days on June 27th and 28th at Haydock Park.

Of course you are wrong. It would be stupid to put a machine up in these wet conditions without pads. The pads were in place. Unfortunately the rain makes the grass grow too, so you can't see the feet either that are clearly shown on the main picture
