JLG announces new German MD

JLG has announced the appointment of Laurent Montenay as Geschäftsführer (MD) of its German distribution business, replacing Kai Schliephake who leaves at the end of the month to head Partner Lift, the German association of independent rental companies.

Montenay, who joined JLG as a regional sales manager from Komatsu Europe in 2006, is currently working on the handover but will officially take over his new role on July 1st. In addition to managing the JLG business in Germany, he will also look after the Austrian and Swiss markets.

Laurent Montenay

Montenay has worked within the Caterpillar Alliance telehandler division since 2009, most recently as director of sales and product support for the Europe, Africa and Middle East Region. JLG builds CAT branded telehandlers for the Alliance.

Prior to JLG he spent three years with Komatsu as an area sales manager. In his new role, he will report to Wayne Lawson, vice president and managing director for the European region.
