A suspended incident
Two window cleaners had to be rescued after the motor failed on a suspended scaffold which was working on the 15th floor of a building in Abu Dhabi on Monday evening.
Local police and the Civil Defence were able to bring the men down with the use of a fire rescue platform. Both men were unharmed in the incident.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Ibrahim Al Ameri, deputy director of Emergency and Public Safety Department, said: “Scaffolding used for cleaning buildings should be regularly maintained to ensure its durability. These checks are essential in avoiding incidents such as this which are a hazard to the safety of the users as well as those surrounding them.”
