IPAF training hits new records

The International Powered Access Federation issued a record 108,065 PAL cards in 2012, almost 11 percent more than in 2011.

When other courses offered through IPAF approved training centres are included, the total numbers are up 11.3 percent to 112,887. Over 22 percent of them - 25,959 - were outside of the UK and Ireland, of which a quarter - 6,249 - were outside of Europe.

A valid PAL Card is proof that the cardholder has been trained to operate powered access equipment safely and effectively, they are valid for five years and can now be verified online, the programme is certified by TÜV as conforming to ISO 18878.

IPAF membership is now approaching the 1,000 level, with a total of 973 members as of the end of 2012. Over half of the members are now located outside of the federations home base of the UK.
