Crushing incident in Calgary

A man was seriously injured at an industrial facility in Calgary, Canada, yesterday after becoming trapped between the platform of an aerial lift and the ceiling.

The incident occurred in the suburb of Royal Oak in the North West Calgary. The man said to be in his 30s was rescued by the emergency services and rushed to hospital.

A statement from the local fire and rescue department said: “The victim is reported to have sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Foothills medical centre where initial reports were that he had succumbed to his injuries but we have since learned that he is alive, but in critical condition.”
