Horizon celebrates with UK first

Scottish crane rental company Horizon Reinforcing and Crane Hire has celebrated its 40th anniversary by taking delivery of the UK and Ireland’s first 65 tonne Tadano Faun HK65 truck-mounted crane.

Purchased through UK distributor Cranes UK the truck-mounted crane features a 41 metre main boom plus a 15.8 metre swing-away extension providing a maximum under hook height of 58 metres. Mounted on a four-axle MAN TGS chassis the company said it is the largest capacity crane of its type running within the UK’s STGO category B. In recognition of the Horizon’s anniversary the crane will also have the company’s ‘40th year’ logo printed on its side.

Paul Goodall of Cranes UK said: “This new HK model gives the customer the capacity to do even more jobs than with previous models. It offers an excellent duty chart, while also keeping running costs low. We are delighted to be celebrating 40 years with Horizon with the addition of this new crane. Our congratulations and thanks go out to all of the Dougall family and I am sure this crane will work well in their already established fleet.”

Steven Dougall of Horizon added: “With contracts requiring us to travel further afield, the low running and maintenance costs of this machine will be of great benefit. We have had an excellent experience and reliability with the other Tadano’s in our fleet so to take a new model was not a concern for us. This is the fifth Tadano in our fleet and we are very happy with the sales and after-service provided from Cranes UK.”
