SGB issue recall reminder

SGB has sent an urgent follow up letter to customers regarding a recall it issued in 2003 concerning a threaded shoring adapter for its MK11 soldier system. The letter dated Augsuts 12th, follows the fatal accident earlier this month at Heathrow Terminal five.

The accident involved the collapse of a shoring system platform, whch killed Mathew Gilbert, 27, and seriously injured Parminder Singh, 21.

The original recall was issued when it was feared that a number of the adpaters, might have been supplied to SGB with undersized threaded stems.

It is possible, that such components might have been involved with the collapse, although this has by no means been determined as the cause of the accident. SGB are taking sensible and responsible precautions in light of the early information from the investigation which is ongoing.
