Fatality at Grove plant

A Manitowoc employee died yesterday after he was crushed between two cranes at the Shady Grove plant in Pennsylvania.

Rickie Lee Grimsley,59, was pinned between a crane parked near the Cylinder building at the plant and one that was turning into the parking area, driven by another employee. He was declared dead at the scene.

A statement from the company confirmed the incident and said that the company is cooperating fully with state police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which is investigating what happened.

The statement added: “We are providing full support to the family of the employee and the other team members on site. We are asking for everyone’s thoughts and prayers for the employee and those involved in the accident.”
