Shipyard goes with Link Belt
Signet Shipbuilding & Repair of Pascagoula, Mississippi, has taken delivery of a new 150 ton/136 tonne Link Belt 238HSL crawler crane.
Signet specialises in the manufacture, repair, maintenance and refurbishment of tugs, work boats and barges and has nine dry-docks. The new crane will be used for lifting small vessels and barges from the water, and loading/offloading marine equipment from boats. It will also allow the shipyard to fabricate larger modules, helping improve safety and efficiency.
The company is currently expanding and adding to the range of shipyard services it provides to the towing and marine transportation industry in the Gulf Coast area, from Texas through to Florida. The Link Belt 238 HSL has been ordered with 33 metres of main boom, and a nine metre fixed jib range, giving a maximum tip height of over 42 metres.
