Truck ejects two from platform
A large UPS delivery truck struck the platform of a boom lift in New York today, throwing the two occupants to the ground.
The two men had been using the JLG 660SJ telescopic boom lift - rented from Altitude Equipment Rental – to install Christmas lights on Columbus Avenue and were at the junction of West 67th Street. They in the process of lowering the platform, having completed the job and were at a height of around four metres or so, when the truck hit. The platform/basket was virtually demolished.

The platform was destroyed
One man is in critical condition with life threatening injuries, while the other is in a serious condition with head injuries. We do not know if the two had been wearing harnesses and lanyards, or if the work area had been cordoned off.
