Haulotte sales edge upwards

Haulotte has published its full year revenues for 2013, showing a like-for-like increase of three percent to €342.7 million, although total revenues are €13 million lower than last year due to mid-year disposal of UK Platforms.

At constant exchange rates the like for like increase would have been over five percent. Growth was mainly driven by South America up 26 percent and Asia-Pacific up nine percent.

Equipment sales increased three percent to €284.4 million, while parts and services jumped 11 percent to €36.1 million. Revenue within the remaining rental operations fell four percent to €22.2 million. The company says that it expects this to translate to an improvement in profits before interest and tax. Looking at the fourth quarter, revenues slipped three percent to € 85.6 million mostly due to exchange rate factors.

After a full month of trading in 2014, Haulotte says that it is seeing the first signs of a significant recovery of the business, particularly in Europe, which has resulted in a significant increase in its order book. Based on this it is predicting sales increasing around 10 percent in 2014.
