£55 million access spend for Lavendon
Powered access rental group Lavendon is to spend more than £55 million on new aerial lifts this year. Adding around 1,360 new units to its rental fleet across its European and Middle East territories.
In the company’s European operations (UK, Germany, France and Belgium) the new units will largely replace older machines as part of an on-going fleet replacement programme. The group’s Middle East fleet will continue to be expanded as the business looks to meet rising demand for safe and efficient access in the region.
Most of the new units will be boom lifts with working heights up to 40 metres. Some new scissor lifts and vehicle mounted platforms will also enter the flee, as well as a selection of new telehandlers for Belgium and France.
A large proportion of the planned investment has already been committed to Genie, although both JLG and Haulotte have also received orders. The new vehicle mounted platforms include a mixture of Bronto, CTE, Ruthmann and Versalift units.
Don Kenny, Lavendon chief executive, said: “Our investment represents our continued commitment to providing market leading products and services in all our territories. Wherever we’re called upon to support safe work at height, we want to give our customers the industry’s most positive hire experience.”
