Sunstate adds IPAF training centre
US based rental company Sunstate has become an IPAF Training Centre with several staff now certified as approved instructors.
Phoenix, Arizona, based Sunstate has been a member of IPAF since 2010 and is one of 70 North American members. The first training centre is located at the company’s headquarters, with further centres likely to follow at several key locations among Sunstate’s 58 strong branch network.

Sunstate president Chris Watts said: “We’ve offered aerial work platform training since 1993. Last year we trained over 8,000 people and about 60 percent of them were on aerials. Even though we already have a training program in place, we saw the benefits of offering our customers a choice of programmes.”
“We’re making an investment in safety. By implementing a training programme that is recognised worldwide, we are doing everything we can to provide our customers with the best tools available to educate their workers and make their job sites safer. Currently we have 10 full time people in our training department and we’re planning to open several other training centres in addition to the one at our Phoenix headquarters. We have even developed a new safety-focused logo that we hope will remind everyone that you should put ‘Safety First & Always’.”
