Improvised platform spotted

A reader in the UK has sent in a picture of an improvised façade platform spotted yesterday, in Denholme, Yorkshire, which has been cobbled together using an old scissor lift, Rough Terrain forklift and wooden scaffold board.

Set up at a height of around four metres, the sloping board runs from the platform of a rather sorry looking scissor lift with its missing guardrail sections, and the raised forks of the fork truck. A ladder has also been placed alongside the platform in order to gain access.

Naturally there is no form of edge protection - guard rails or toe boards - and no attempt has been made to prevent a fall from height.

In the words of our reader: “Surely the individuals responsible deserve a Darwin Award! may not be too long before they remove themselves from the gene pool!”

Definitely one for our Death Wish series.
