Lack of a harness takes another life
The owner of a tree company died on Friday after he was catapulted out of an aerial lift when the boom was struck by a falling tree limb in Madison, Alabama.
The man, Jason Buckley, 47, of Bucks Tree Service, was working from a bucket truck at a height of around 18 metres when the limb struck the boom causing it to deflect and then catapult him to his death. The platform did not overturn and had he been wearing a harness and short lanyard he would almost certainly have survived with only minor injuries.
