Manitou announces new telehandler

In early 2006 Manitou will replace its popular 13 metre MT13 range of telescopic handlers with a new range that it says has “evolved” from the MT13. Designated the MT14 the new models will offer better lifting performance together with improved ergonomics and a little more lift height at 13.6 metres.

Designed specifically for the construction industry, the MT 14 range will initially comprise three models, the 3,500 kgs 1435SL and 1435HSLT the latter with hydrostatic drive and the 4,000kg 1440SLT.

All three MT 14s will benefit from improvements in their load curves, and will be able to extend a pallet to 9.50 metres in front of their wheels.

The Manitou dual cross-gate levers will be fitted as standard on the new MT14 models. Whether using forks or bucket loading, the operator controls all movements with one hand, resulting, says the company, in improved productivity and safety.

The cab has been redesigned to offer a large working area with improved visibility, while the thermoformed interior trim contributes to improved soundproofing for the driver

The MT 14s are all equipped with wide or narrow stabilisers controlled from the cab with tilt compensation to provide improved performance on irregular ground surfaces.
