Cramo acquires Vuokra-Pekat Oy

Finnish international rental company Cramo has acquired privately-owned Helsinki based rental company Vuokra-Pekat in a share purchase transaction.

Founded in 2004, Vuokra-Pekat is a general rental company covering southern Finland. The company is the local market leader in supplying dust control equipment, which makes up 40 percent of its business. Revenues last year were in the region of €4.8 million and the company employs 20 people across two depots in Helsinki and Espoo.

For the time being, Vuokra-Pekat will continue to operate as a separate company, while managing director Reijo Pirhonen will remain with the business. No details of the transaction value have been released.

Pirhonen said: "To grow organically in the current market situation would have required us to diversify our rental fleet and make additional investments. All owners were unanimous about selling the company to Cramo, which provides Vuokra-Pekat not only with a skilled organisation but also a versatile fleet. I trust that by combining the resources of our companies we will achieve significant growth in the future, even though the economic situation in construction industry is challenging in Finland.”
