Cramo acquires Visby Hyresmaskiner
Cramo has acquired the assets of Visby Hyresmaskiner on the island of Gotland in Sweden (halfway between Sweden and Latvia), and is converting it into a Cramo franchisee.
VHM had revenues in 2013 of around SEK20 million (€2.1 million) and rents out a wide range of construction equipment on the island, which has a population if around 23,000. The fleet includes self-erecting tower cranes, aerial lifts, scaffold towers, and mast climbers.
The two parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. VHM – founded in 1998 - is based in central Visby, all employees, including the company’s majority owner and managing director, Roger Gustafsson, will remain with the business and work under the Cramo brand.
Erik Bengtsson, managing director of Cramo Sweden said: “VHM is a well-reputed rental company with a record of several years of profitable growth. Our intention is to further grow our business in Gotland. By joining our forces, we can provide VHM’s current customers and all the other players in the construction industry an even wider range of products and services than today and at the same time increase our efficiency.”
Gustafsson added: “Becoming part of the Cramo network will provide us a better access to a wide range of fleet. The resources of Sweden’s leading equipment rental company will also help us increase our service level and facilitate our continued growth.”
