Mateco plans large investment
German powered access company Mateco has announced that it will invest in more than 1,100 new aerial work platforms this year.
Specific details have not been provided however the company has said that it will add new models, including three 180ft Genie SX-180 boom lifts, to its product range, as well as focusing on hybrid aerial work platforms. The new orders will include truck mounted lifts with working heights of 35, 40, 54 and 63 metres, as well as investing heavily in 3.5 tonne truck mounts for the self-drive market.
Mateco chief executive Armin Rappen, said: “Modern equipment is top priority for Mateco. Our customers benefit enormously from a young rental fleet, and aerial work platforms up to five years old stand a better chance of complying with current safety and quality standards compared to machines more than 10 years old. With future investments we aim to bring the average age of our fleet down to less than five years."
