Major crane auction

Ritchie Bros is to hold a major crane and transport auction for Energy Transportation/Crane in Casper, Wyoming, later this month.

The auction follows the sale of Energy Transportation/Crane to NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul last month. The deal did not include the cranes - see: NCSG acquires Energy Crane.

Energy Crane & Rigging/Transportation was founded by Dan McGlade in the 1980s, and he has now decided to retire. Speaking of the auction he said: "We have an outstanding fleet. You can take any piece in this sale and put it straight to work. I have bought and sold with Ritchie Bros many times over the years and developed a strong trust with the company. With a Ritchie Bros. unreserved auction you know that everything will sell with no minimum bids and go to a new owner at the end of the sale."

More than 700 lots will be sold in the unreserved public auction, including 14 Rough Terrain cranes, ranging from 20 – 150 tonnes, seven All Terrain cranes from 200 to 500 tonnes, seven truck cranes ranging from 75 to 110 tonnes and six crawler cranes from 200 to 600 tonnes, along with related rigging and transport equipment.

A special financing offer is available for this auction through Ritchie Bros Financial Services, with rates as low as 3.95 percent, and 90 day terms. Bids can be made in person at the auction site, online or by proxy. The auction will be held on Wednesday, March 25th starting at 9:00. To go directly to the auction site click here

Some of the cranes to be sold at auction later this month

Rob Giroux, vice president, sales at Ritchie Bros said: "This is the best selection of cranes we've ever sold. Energy Transportation is one of the most prestigious crane operations in North America, with one of the best fleets around. Cranes of this size and quality don't come to auction often, especially not in this quantity."
