Boom lift fire
A boom lift caught fire yesterday in the town of Casino in North East New South Wales, Australia.
Two men had just started to go up in the platform to check out the floodlights at a sports field in the town, when they noticed what they described as “drops of fire and smoke” coming from the machine - a fairly large JLG boom lift.
The two men wisely decided to abandon their work plans and exit the platform. Shortly afterwards the unit caught fire and created a smoke pall that was reportedly visible throughout the area. While we see such fires happening quite frequently with All Terrain cranes, it is rare that we report on an aerial lift catching fire like this.

The fire is put out before it causes too much damage
The Richmond Valley fire department quickly arrived on the scene and were able to extinguish the fire relatively easily.
