First truck mount for Star
UK rental company Star Platforms has entered the truck mounted lift market with the delivery of a new 21 metre CTE Zed 21.2 JH.
The new Zed 21.2 JH is mounted on a compact, economic Nissan Cabstar chassis, and offers up to 10 metres of outreach, and a maximum platform capacity of 300kg. The unit employs the classic CTE Zed dual sigma type riser, two section telescopic boom and articulated jib with an end mounted platform. The new machine will be available for self-drive rental, or complete with a fully qualified operator.

Joint managing director Richard Miller said: “As we continue to grow our customer base, we receive a greater number of requests for specialist equipment, including truck mounted platforms like this. This purchase reflects that demand and, as members of the Access Alliance, we can also offer our customers a broader range of other truck mounted platform hire options, all the way up to 112 metres.”
Star Platforms was established in Luton, just over a year ago in October 2014, by Steve Simmons, with Bryan Freeman joining a few weeks later and Richard Miller coming on board at the start of January. The company now operates from three locations, having added a depot in, Sevenoaks in Kent in August and Coalville, Leicestershire in October.
IPAF operator.
I understand expansion and growing a fleet, but companies are far better in concentrating on what they are good at. Not having a bit of everything to keep up with the big boys. There is enough forms of cross hiring with companies that specialise in other fields of access to reduce a bit of kit going out less than 50% over a year.
