48m Palfinger for MC Access

UK maintenance contractor and budding access rental company MC Property Maintenance has taken delivery of a new Palfinger P480NX truck mounted lift.

The company’s previous largest machine is a 23 metres spider lift, and its largest truck mount a 3.5 tonne 21 metre CTE Zed 21.
It has specified the new Palfinger with a wide range of options, including a separate camera basket for film work and sporting events. It claims that this is the first P480 on the UK’s South Coast. MC has chosen to mount the new lift on a two axle MAN chassis, it features 31.5 metres of outreach, and the model's double link articulated ‘X jib’ with 240 degrees of articulation and 400 degrees of platform rotation - ideal for reaching challenging areas.

Henning Deichmann of Palfinger (L) hands the machine over to MC owner Simon Hume and Palfinger plant where the new P480 was undergoing its final test.

Bognor Regis based MC was incorporated in 2001 as a painting and decorating contractor, but has branched out into all manner of building maintenance work, complete with a 24 hour call out service. With the company’s increased use of aerial work platforms it decided to buy one of its own machines, investing in an ex BT van mounted Versalift platform.

It soon began renting the lift to others when it was not in use. This spurred on a new rental division focusing on spider and truck mounted lifts. The new addition, its largest machine to date, takes the fleet to seven units, including the 21 metre Zed 21 truck mount, a 23 metre CTE Traccess 230 spider lift and three Easylift spider models – the 150, 160 and 180.
