Big Manitou booms for UPA
UK based rental company United Powered Access (UPA) has taken delivery of three 86ft Manitou 280TJ telescopic boom lifts.
The company said that the machines have been purchased in response to customer demand. So far company has principally purchased Skyjack scissor lifts and Niftylift articulated boom lifts up to the HR21. Last February it also added its first mast booms, five 10 metre Manitou 100VJRs.
The 280TJ features a short rising pivot point, three section telescopic boom and two section telescopic articulated jib to provide a 28 metre working height.

Greg Miller of UPA (L) takes delivery of two of the new Manitou 280TJ boom lifts from Tony Hobbs of Manitou UK
Greg Miller, sales and operations director at UPA said: “We already have some Manitou mast booms in our fleet and they have proven to be very reliable for indoor applications. Reconfiguring the fleet with these new units is a logical step as the business continues to grow and we are confident that they will prove to be a valuable addition.”
Tony Hobbs of Manitou added: “We are delighted to be able to support UPA and look forward to being a significant partner in the continuing success of the business over the coming years.”
United Powered Access was established in 2013 and is part of the CA Group, a roofing and cladding manufacturer and installer based in County Durham.
Great choice for UAP. We had the opportunity to trial a couple of Manitou booms recently, thanks to Tony! And we're massively impressed. As a general Rental machine the features and benefits were huge!
So much of the experience depends on the people involved, and Tony made the whole process trouble free. The client feedback from the Training department was really positive.
