AFI expands delivery fleet
AFI has expanded its in-house transport fleet with the purchase of five new delivery trucks with Sterling Beaver tail bodies
The new vehicles include two MAN and two DAF 26 tonne trucks, which have already been delivered, plus a 32 tonne MAN, which will arrive shortly, the additions increase the AFI delivery fleet to 54 trucks. All new trucks include AFI’s new vinyl wrap livery.
All of the new trucks conform to the latest emissions standards and are fitted with telemetry systems, allowing the company to monitor vehicle and driver performance as well as location for delivery updates.

Sterling says that its ‘Cheesewedge’ fold forward ramps create less drag than other types of ramp, providing fuel savings of up to 12 percent. The new bodies include integrated safety features, such as fall protection and side walkways.
AFI director Nick Higgins said: “We have invested heavily in providing our own in-house transport fleet so that we can take full responsibility and control of every aspect of the delivery process. We have further increased the efficiency of the fleet by strategically locating the vehicles throughout our UK depot network to ensure machines are delivered to customers quickly and collected promptly.”
“We have had a strong relationship with Sterling for many years now and the fuel saving benefits and increased payloads has been a result of this partnership developing over time”.
