First Liebherr for Coussens

UK crane rental company Coussens of Bexhill has taken delivery of its first new Liebherr crane 160 tonne LTM 1160-5.2

The LTM 1160-5.2, the first to be delivered in the UK, has a load chart around 20 to 25 percent better than its predecessor the LTM1160-5.1. It features six section 62 metre main boom, with Telematik telescopic system. Coussens has also taken the 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension option.

The new crane has an overall width of 2.75 metres, rather than the three metres of its processor and comes with Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger set up system. The crane is powered by a single six-cylinder chassis mounted Liebherr diesel, which drives the superstructure via a mechanical shaft.

Coussens has also opted for a special on-board counterweight configuration designed for UK customers to enable the crane to carry 22.5 tonnes of its 54 tonnes of maximum counterweight within STGO regulations.
