Compact Truck considers new production location

Compact Truck AG, the German/Swiss manufacturer of hydrostatic powered mobile cranes is considering re-structuring its production facilities

The re-structuring would see production move from the Compact Cranes GmbH facility in Ulm, Germany to an as yet unspecified new facility. The location of the new production facilities has not been announced as discussions have not yet been concluded. However, after sales, maintenance and repair work will continue to be based in Ulm said Alexander Lutz, managing director of Compact Truck in an interview with Vertikal.net .

Sales of the crane range will continue to be handled by Swiss based Compact Truck AG said Lutz who added that the past few years had seen licence agreements for the construction of the cranes signed with Terex and the Russian company BSK. He stressed, however, that complete sale of the designs and technology is not an option.

* Production of Compact Truck's mobile cranes was originally based in a factory in Weimar, eastern Germany.
