Five Liebherr ATs for Bryn Thomas

UK rental company Bryn Thomas Cranes has purchased five new Liebherr All-Terrain cranes in a deal worth around €2.8 million.

The order comprises two 60 tonne,three axle LTM 1060-3.1, two 90 tonne four axle LTM 1090-4.1 and a 40 tonne two axle LTM 1040-2.1. So far one LTM 1060-3.1 has been delivered, with the remainder to follow later this year.

The €2.8 million order comprises of two LTM 1060-3.1, two LTM 1090-4.1 and a LTM 1040-2.1

The LTM 1060-3.1 features a 48 metre, five-section boom with a bi-fold swingaway extension. The all wheel steer crane can travel in the UK with all 12.8 tonnes of counterweight, extensions and hook blocks on board. The second new LTM 1060 is expected to arrive in March.

The 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.1s features a 50 metre main boom while the swingaway extensions take the maximum lift height to 75 metres. The UK’s 16 tonne axle load permits, allows the crane to carry 17 tonnes of its maximum 21 tonnes of counterweight, along with its extensions. One of the new LTM 1090-4.1s is due to be exhibited at Vertikal Days in June this year.

Also scheduled to be at Vertikal Days is the two-axle LTM 1040-2.1. Purchased as part of the company's fleet renewal programme, the new crane has a maximum lift height of 44 metres with its 35 metre main boom and 9.5 metre swingaway extension.

The LTM 1060-3.1 and LTM 1090-4.1 will be equipped with Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger set up system,
