Fatal load drop
A man died yesterday near Kapar, Malaysia when a crane dropped a generator that it was lifting on a job site in Persiaran Hamzah Alang, to the west of Kuala Lumpur.
The man, Yau Hong Wai, 63, suffered extreme head and chest injuries and was declared dead at the scene. A co-worker suffered leg injuries in the incident. Both were Bangladeshi guest workers.
Police said that the cause of the incident was down to loose bolts on the generator’s lifting eyes breaking free causing the generator to fall.
