Tanfield appoints quality manager

Tanfield, owners of UpRight Powered Access has appointed Ken Taylor, 56, as its quality manager. Taylor has a wealth of experience in quality control, after spending more than 20 years in the automotive sector. He has worked with major manufacturers, including BMW and Mercedes.

“My role is to get right to the heart of customer quality issues,” he said. We value customer feedback as an integral part of our continuous improvement programme – our products will only get better thanks to input from end users.”

Taylor will also play a key role in the introduction of a new quality management system for the assembly lines presently being installed in UpRight’s new UK production facility in Washington.

Darren Kell, director of UpRight, said; “As quality manager for UpRight, Ken is driving a major business improvement programme. This includes how we listen to and log customer feedback on quality issues and asses the information, then ensure these issues are addressed as quickly as possible.”
