Kesla exits the aerial lift business

Kesla Oyj the Finnish based producer of lightweight telescopic self propelled boom lifts has sold its aerial lift business to Nostolift Oy, the Finnish producer of truck mounted aerial lifts.

The deal includes designs for all of the company’s aerial lifts including the current XS range, which includes two models, the XS190 and XS240, inventory and goodwill.

Production will be transferred this autumn to Nostolift’s 2,100 square metre plant in Eura, southwestern Finland and be rebranded as Nosto lifts. Nostolift opened its plant in Eura in 2002 and currently builds three models there, the 23 metre platform height 25, the 35 metre 35 and the 53 metre model 55. Most of its sales are in Nordic countries, particularly Sweden and Finland.

Kesla is principally a producer of forestry equipment including loader cranes and tree harvesting heads Aerial lifts represent less than 10 percent of the company’s revenues which exceeded €28 million last year.

We understand that Jukka ‘Jack’ Silvennoinen, Kesla’s aerial lift sales manager will not be joining Nostolift.
