Groves for DHIB

German contractor Dechant Hoch- und Ingenieurbau (DHIB) has taken delivery of two Grove cranes, a 100 tonne GMK 4100L-1 All Terrain crane and a 45 tonne RT550E Rough Terrain crane.

The four axle GMK 4100L-1 features a 60 metre main boom with Twin-Lock pinning and an 11.1 to 17.6 metre telescopic swingaway extension. The RT550E features a five section, 39 metre main boom plus an eight metre swingaway extension which can be offset at zero, 20 or 40 degrees.

Dechant’s new GMK 4100L-1

DHIB’s Thomas Dechant said: “The GMK 4100L-1 convinced us above all with its taxi configuration. Despite the heavier 16.00 R25 tyres and the long main boom, it can be driven with a taxi load of 5.7 tonnes, which makes the journey to the construction sites much easier.”

“We chose the RT550E for its good pick and carry capabilities that allow it to handle heavy loads on the hook. That's an advantage over All Terrain cranes.”
