100 metre boom arrives in UK

A 100 metre Ruthmann trailer mounted boom lift has arrived in the UK where it is booked on a number of projects.
The lift, one of two units that have been sold, is owned by Gardemann, the German based access specialist. It has been brought to the UK by AA Access, not Primarily for a number of specific rental contracts, but also to test the UK market for such a large machine.

The nine axle beast, The first 100m lift to arrive in the UK

AA access is also part owner of the new Mammoth Access truck mount specialist which has a 90 metre Bronto on order and is considering a 100 metre unit.

Bringing the large machine to the UK was not quite as easy as you might think. First of all not all ferries would take the nine axle machine, due to its weight and length.

Then when the ship docked at the Humber sea terminal, the Access Ramp was too steep for the machine to be driven off without grounding.

The lift had to say on board until the tide had receded thus improving the peak angle of the ramp. Andy Ainsworth of AA Access says that he is hoping to book a few more contracts for the massive platform before returning it to Germany.
