Lavendon appoints new MD for Zooom in Germany

A new managing director has been appointed to run Lavendon Group’s German subsidiary Zooom. Marcel Probst, who had previously been acting as a management consultant at Zooom’s Frankfurt headquarters replaces Günther Aust who had run the company for the last six years and is one of the best known figures in the German access hire sector.

A statement issued by Zooom confirmed that “Günther Aust has left Zooom by mutual agreement”. The statement added that the company wished to “recognise the significant contribution Günther Aust has made to the development of Zooom” and “wished him well in his future business and personal life”.

Marcel Probst, Zooom


Marcel Probst is now managing director of Zooom and has assumed day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of the business. Lavendon stressed that Germany remains a key part of its growth strategy and that it is continuing with its planned investment of €5 million in more than 100 new units which are due for delivery in the coming weeks. Simultaneously more than €1 million is being invested in upgrading IT systems. Probst himself is a Dutch national and was seconded to Zooom by Kevin Appleton, Lavendon’s CEO, in the middle of July.
