India’s first Bronto S70XDT
India’s ABC Infra Equipment, a division of Assam Bombay Carriers, has taken delivery of a 70 metre Bronto Skylift S70XDT truck mounted platform, the first in the country.
The Bronto S70XDT offers an outreach of up to 35 metres with an unrestricted platform capacity of 120kg, or 31 metres with the maximum 600kg platform capacity and joins a rental fleet that includes mobile cranes up to 250 tonnes as well as aerial lifts and telehandlers.

The first S70XDT in India
ABC managing director Praveen Sharma said: “The Bronto Skylift S70XDT with 70 metre working height was chosen specifically due to our client's height and reach requirement. There is increasing demand for such high reach aerial platforms and at present the population of such machines is very low. We believe there is an untapped market for these machines. The safety awareness in India has increased by leaps and bounds in the past 10 years. Also, our customer feel using such platforms would boost efficiency and productivity.”
“We saw various Bronto fire vehicles in Mumbai and later got to know that Bronto is the global leader in fire and access platforms. Also, Bronto has supplied around 100 units in India. This gave us the confidence to go ahead with Bronto.”

Bronto Skylift access sales director Antti Suoniemi added: “We are proud to be a part in developing ABC Infra Equipment’s local service offering. Being able to offer our knowhow on bringing safety to people working at height is an exciting opportunity. Despite the S70XDT’s high reach, its compact outline makes it ideal even for narrow streets, further adding to its versatility.”
Established in 1985, ABC is based in Mumbai. The company began providing a rental service for cranes, aerial lifts – truck mounted, scissor and boom lifts- along with telehandlers in 2005. Today it operates from 21 locations across India, of which six are classified as main branches.
