Spierings for Engel-Krane
German rental company Engel-Krane has taken delivery of a new Spierings SK597-AT4 mobile self-erecting tower crane.
The four axle crane features a 48 metre jib which can be luffed up to 45 degrees above horizontal, for a maximum hook height of 58.1 metres at which it can lift 1,700kg. The maximum capacity is seven tonnes at a 14 metre radius.
This is the second mobile tower crane to join the Engle Krane fleet, which is based in Burg, on the north side of Magdeburg south west of Berlin. The company was founded in 1992 by Ernst Engle, employs around 80 staff and runs a mixed fleet of All Terrains, truck cranes, spider cranes, loader cranes and telehandlers.

Managing director Ringo Engel said: "With a reach of 48 metres we believe the Spierings SK597-AT4 is the best crane in its class. The excellent relationship with Spierings also made the investment decision much easier for us. Our claim is to be able to offer the customer the complete 'crane world' from our own fleet. From the trailer crane or mini-crane to loading crane vehicles and telehandlers to the six axle AT crane or even the mobile tower cranes. In order to continue to differentiate ourselves from the mass of classic crane companies, we expect further new additions to the machinery in the coming months. Among other things, we will achieve an absolute special device from Italian production. A truck crane with 160 tons carrying capacity on an 8x8 chassis and other unique features will open up new areas of application for us.”
