1,250t Demag for Superior

US rental company Superior Cranes has taken delivery of a 1,250 tonne Demag CC 6800-1 crawler crane.

The CC 6800-1 features a 150 metre main boom and can handle 991 tonnes at a radius of 16 metres. The company plans to use it in the petrochemical, refining, power plant, infrastructure and wind industries.

Owner Joe Everett said: “Our Demag CC 3800-1 with its 650 tonne capacity previously was the largest crawler in our fleet, so the acquisition of the CC 6800-1 was a significant capacity increase for our line. The crane’s design combined with the service and support provided by Demag for our other crawler and All Terrain cranes made purchasing the CC 6800-1 an easy decision.”

Established in 1989, Superior Crane is based in Rockingham, North Carolina and operates from five other branches throughout North and South Carolina. The company specialises in crane rental and heavy haulage.
