Bowers to do it again

As we reported back in October Malcolm Bowers and his son Ben, who had been working with Lavendon, have set up their own aerial lift rental business in the UK.

The company will be called Lifterz Ltd and will start trading on January 2nd from premises in Ossett, West Yorkshire.

The new company will start up with 40 lifts from Genie and Haulotte with a number of Niftylifts to follow. The company aims to have a fleet of 140 units by June 2007 made up from existing orders and new orders to be placed in the new year.

Bowers is a serial entrepreneur, with 35 years experience in the access business this will be his third start up, having founded both Access Rental Ltd and AFI.

Malcolm Bowers


Access was sold in 1989 and was later absorbed into Nationwide while AFI was subject to a management buy in by David Shipman and Geoff Gibson, Bowers stayed with the business until bowing out in September 2005.
