PASMA Lifetime Acheivement Awards

PASMA - the prefabricated access suppliers’ and manufacturers' association - has for the first time ever, presented lifetime achievement awards to two of its longest serving members.

At a recent award ceremony, Ken Richardson and Tony Williams were both presented with the award in recognition of their services to PASMA and the industry.

Ken, still an active member of the PASMA council has been in the industry for 43 years and a member of the association since its inception in 1974.

The awards were presented by PASMA Chairman Brian Houston at the recent council meeting.

A third award will be made to Brian Madden of Upright, Ireland. Unfortunately he was unable to attend the ceremony but his presentation will be made later this month.

PASMA was originally formed by the major manufacturers of alloy access towers in the UK with the aim of promoting the safe use of alloy access towers and to promote the interests of its members to the regulatory and standards authorities. However the introduction of

Training Course in the early 1980's - now universally recognised as the industry standard -began a long history of skills training. The success of this scheme is reflected in the fact that last year alone, more than 30,000 users completed the training programme.

The Association also publishes an Operator's Code of Practice which is regularly reviewed and updated, an indispensable guide which covers all aspects of Mobile Access Towers use, including erection and dismantling, stability, safe operation, hazards, inspection, care and maintenance.
