Safway scaffold name change

Some 11 years after it was acquired by Thyssen Krupp, Safway scaffold is changing the company name of both its US and Canadian businesses to ThyssenKrupp Safeway Inc.

The decision to integrate the company name comes in advance of a major Thyssen Krupp branding campaign in North America, where more than 25,000 are employed in a range of businesses from elevators to steel.

The Safway brand will continue to be used on the company’s products etc..The company, which claims to be the largest scaffold rental business in North America was originally established in 1936 and now operates form 80 locations.

Marc Wilson, ThyssenKrupp Safway’s, president and CEO said “Due to the extensive resources that have been available to Safway under ThyssenKrupp’s ownership in the past several years, we have been able to grow our branch network, and add products and services throughout North America at an impressive rate. We look forward to a continued acceleration of our plans to add branches, products and services throughout North America”.

“We are about to begin a process of aggressive brand building and it is critical for us to project a clear image of who we are, the services we provide, and the markets we serve. We have an Industrial Services Division for the Petrochemical and Power market, and just added a Bridge Division. We believe it is important to maintain a consistent company brand image for our customers,”

“Our sister companies such as ThyssenKrupp Materials NA and ThyssenKrupp Elevator are in the same markets we serve, Industrial and Commercial Construction, and are recognized by our customers in each market."
